Rewiring the darkroom timer
The old enlarger timer finally gave up, so I replaced the relay board with a small microcontroller and a foot switch. Test strips are now repeatable to a tenth of a second.
Notes from a week on the coast
Three rolls of HP5, one of Portra, and a lot of fog. Pushing the HP5 a stop worked better than expected in the flat morning light.
Scanning negatives with a camera
A copy stand, a macro lens and a cheap LED panel replaced my flatbed. The workflow is faster, and the grain finally looks like grain.
Home lab, second iteration
Moved everything to a single low-power box. Fewer blinking lights, same services, and the fan is quiet enough to keep it on the bookshelf.
